This Town

Set in the early 1980s, 'This Town' is a six-part British drama series created by Steven Knight. The show follows a group of young individuals in Birmingham and Coventry as they navigate the burgeoning ska and two-tone music scene, which united black, white, and Asian youths. The narrative intertwines personal stories with the socio-political climate of the time, including the Birmingham riots and the IRA's mainland campaign. The series premiered on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on March 31, 2024, and won Best Single Drama or Limited Series at the 2025 Royal Television Society Programme Awards.
